During the act, Igual has encouraged the people of Santander and visitors to «enjoy to the fullest» the scheduled activities, and has also called for celebrating the festivities with «responsibility and respect.»
This marks the beginning of 11 days of festive programming that started this morning with the opening of the stalls at the Day Fair and the inauguration of the maritime market. Additionally, this afternoon, the traditional parade of the peñistas took place, with the participation of around 2,000 people, and the exhibition of the Gigantillas in the City Hall.
Friday night also marks the start of the free concerts at Plaza Porticada, with ‘The Night of The 40 Classic’, to kick off the Semana Grande singing and dancing to the rhythm of the 80s.
The festive program includes hundreds of cultural, recreational, and leisure proposals, with music in different locations in the city, parties and solidarity with the peñas, sports events, gastronomy, children’s activities, dance performances, the bullfighting fair, fireworks at the second beach of Sardinero, Circo Quimera and Cabaret Prohibido, or fairs at the Sardinero parking lot.
The entire program will be available in both physical and digital formats, through hand programs, magazines, on the website, on QR tótems distributed throughout the city, and can be followed day by day on the social media accounts of the Department of Social Dynamization, on the account @santanderfestejos.
