Abierto el plazo de audiencia del borrador del Consejo Cántabro de Comercio.

The Government of Cantabria has opened the period of public consultation and information of the draft decree that regulates the Cantabrian Commerce Council to present suggestions and allegations within the period of 10 working days, starting from the day following the publication in the Official Gazette of Cantabria (BOC), a period between May 28 and June 11.
The project will be available to the public at the offices of the Directorate General of Commerce and Consumption from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., located at Calle Albert Einstein number 4 in Santander and on the website
Allegations or suggestions must be made in writing and addressed to the Directorate General of Commerce and Consumption, and may be submitted to the General Electronic Register and in the registers or places established by current regulations or through the Transparency Portal of Cantabria.
In a press release, the Government has pointed out that the creation of this Council begins along with the Cantabrian Consumer Council, already initiated and processed in the publication phase to comply with the constitutional mandate that obliges public authorities to guarantee the defense of consumers and users, protecting their safety, health, and legitimate economic interests through effective procedures.
In this sense, the Cantabrian Law on Consumer and User Defense establishes the Cantabrian Consumer Council as the main consultation and participation body in consumer matters in the autonomous community, assigning it to the competent general direction in consumer and user defense matters.
On the other hand, the Cantabrian Commerce Council aims to study and analyze the behavior and needs of the commercial sector in order to design and develop a rational planning that allows for the reactivation, boost, and revitalization of the commercial economic activity in the region.
The Minister of Commerce, Eduardo Arasti, has emphasized that the Government is thus fulfilling «an outstanding debt» with consumers and merchants in Cantabria by having «the necessary bodies for participation and consultation that will promote, along with the administrations, policies in promoting commerce and defending consumers and users.»
