Adjudican sistema digital sostenible de información al viajero por carretera.

The Department of Development has awarded the implementation of a new digital and sustainable traveler information system, aimed at users of interurban public road transport, for 750,200 euros.

As highlighted by the head of the Transport area, Roberto Media, this new service will allow passengers to know the real status of public passenger transport services, as well as plan their mobility without incidents by having «truthful» information «at all times.»

The counselor has explained that the objective of this new investment is to improve the interoperability of the public transport system through the digitalization and introduction of new information technologies that allow the user to have the information «at the right time, in the right place, and through the most appropriate systems.»

To achieve this, he has indicated that various tools will be used, from the internet network (before and during the trip) to screens located at stops, terminals, or stations (during their wait).

This system will be present at the main stops and at the stations and terminals of the interurban public road transport network in Cantabria, and will also be integrated into the exploitation aid system (SAE) used by the different service operators.

«We continue to take steps to promote sustainable and efficient mobility through the transformation of the public transport sector, which is the true alternative to the use of private vehicles,» Media expressed.
