Amenabar awarded 15.5 million contract for construction of two affordable housing buildings in El Alisal

The board of directors of the Housing and Land Society of Santander (SVS) has approved in its meeting this Monday to award the construction of buildings 3 (52 rental homes with option to buy) and 4 (52 homes for sale) in Sector 1 of El Alisal to the company Amenabar, tendered in a single lot, for a budget of 15,563,000 euros and a 20-month execution period.
This was announced in a press release by the Housing and Development councilor, Agustín Navarro, who emphasized the «speed» in the processing of the projects, with the goal of starting the work so that nearly 300 families can enjoy their homes «as soon as possible».
The councilor highlighted that the two buildings will have «the highest energy rating» and will consist of 2 and 3 bedroom homes, with a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and toilet, as well as a parking space and linked storage room.
TAFER AND ROMA, IN CHARGE OF CONSTRUCTION
On the other hand, the board has approved the award of the construction management for building 2 (53 VPO for rent with option to buy) to the company TAFER, for an amount of 40,202 euros (plus VAT); and for buildings 3 and 4 to the company ROMA, for 80,112 euros.
Similarly, this Monday the approval was given for the award of safety and health coordination for the works of buildings 1 (52 VPO for sale) and 2, to the company Eurocontrol, for 18,823 euros (plus VAT); for buildings 3 and 4, to Norvalia Soluciones, for a value of 18,963 euros; and for buildings 5 (40 VPO for sale) and 6 (32 homes for sale), to Koldobika Rivas Ortiz, for 15,617 euros. In addition, the tender specifications for the works of building 2 have been approved, with a budget of 8.9 million euros.
Navarro has highlighted the importance of «all these advancements» and has stated that «Santander is an example of promoting protected housing at very competitive prices and with continuous facilities for tenants or owners».
As he has emphasized, the City Council has built 1,204 VPO in recent years and has promoted «the largest social housing stock for rent in Cantabria».
On the other hand, he has recalled that the second of the three draws planned to allocate the nearly 300 protected homes that the City Council will build in Sector 1 will take place this Friday, April 4, from 10:00 am, in the auditorium of the Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses.
On this occasion, 92 homes will be allocated, corresponding to two of the six planned buildings (building 4 and building 5). 10,872 citizens are registered, of which 915 are also on the list of applicants for homes reserved for people with disabilities. The average age of the applicants is 39 years.
In total, Sector 1 of El Alisal encompasses a total area of 170,116 square meters and additionally includes an educational facility area of 13,680 square meters, of which 6,840 square meters are buildable.
There is also a planned sports facility area of 9,192 square meters of which 5,511 square meters are buildable, a healthcare area of 9,775 square meters of which 6,842 square meters are buildable, as well as a commercial area of 5,496 square meters.
