Comillas acoge el primer Congreso Regional de Salud con 350 profesionales

The first Regional Health Congress, organized by the Ministry of Health and the Cantabrian Health Service (SCS), will bring together 350 healthcare professionals on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 10 and 11, in Comillas. The main goal of this event is to strengthen the culture of continuous improvement, share best practices, and highlight the knowledge generated in the healthcare, educational, and healthcare management fields.
With this congress, held in conjunction with the XV Quality and Patient Safety Conference, the Ministry of Health aims to reinforce the shared vision of a public healthcare system focused on quality, patient safety, and organizational innovation, promoting a collaborative environment. It also serves as a new meeting space for healthcare professionals from within the region and beyond Cantabria.
The event, to be inaugurated on Wednesday by the Minister of Health, César Pascual, will take place at the Comillas Space and will be attended by healthcare professionals from all categories and areas of the public health system. Over the course of the two days, there will be 18 scientific activities combining practical workshops, panel discussions, oral presentations, and improvement experiences.
The scientific program begins on Tuesday afternoon with workshops, free communications, and posters. The Director General of Pharmacy, Humanization, and Sociosanitary Coordination, María Isabel Priede Díaz, and the Deputy Director of Care, Training, and Continuity of Care at the SCS, Patricia Corro, will welcome the attendees. Following this, there will be four simultaneous workshops on topics such as ‘Reality that saves: immersive basic life support with virtual reality’, ‘Building health’, ‘The Euthanasia Law from a professional perspective: commitment, ethics, and support’, and ‘From «Ouch» to «I’m coming!»: understanding and coping with pain’.
In addition, there will be oral presentations and an exhibition of scientific posters, showcasing work from healthcare professionals across the community. The day will conclude with a brief closing ceremony led by the Director General of Public Health.
On Wednesday, the program is structured around four thematic sessions addressing different dimensions of healthcare and organizational improvement. These include ‘People at the center: experiences that transform care’, focusing on initiatives centered on patient participation, home care, prevention programs, and digital nursing care. The other sessions will cover ‘Processes that improve, results that matter: keys to advancing from practice’, ‘The silent revolution: systems that improve, processes that learn’, and ‘The power of good ideas: shining initiatives’.
The congress will wrap up with a closing session involving the moderators of the various sessions, followed by the presentation of awards for the best communication and poster.
