Detenido por daños a vehículos y agresión a la Policía un joven previamente denunciado por andar por la calzada

The Local Police of Santander has arrested a 24-year-old man for causing damage to two vehicles and throwing punches at the officers who managed to subdue him while he was in the middle of the road. Additionally, hours earlier, he had been reported for the same reason, when he was found wandering in the middle of the road consuming beer.

Last night, on Castilla Street, thanks to citizen collaboration, the Police identified and arrested the aforementioned young man for two alleged crimes, one against property and the other for disobedience and resistance to a law enforcement officer.

Moments before, he had kicked the side mirror of a car, and had thrown a parked motorcycle to the ground and dragged it along the road.

When the officers arrived, the man was in the middle of the road, screaming and waving his arms, so they had to stop the traffic to protect both the individual and the other road users.

After repeatedly instructing him to move to the sidewalk and refusing to do so, the officers proceeded to remove him from the road, to which he strongly resisted, throwing punches at them and trying to break free.

Once away from the road, he continued to be very aggressive towards the police officers, throwing punches and shoving them, until he was finally arrested and also reported for disrespect and lack of consideration towards a law enforcement officer.

Earlier, around 11:45 pm, he had already been reported on Marqués de la Hermida Street, at the intersection with Ruiz Zorrilla, as he was wandering in the middle of the road consuming beer, forcing other users to brake to avoid hitting him.

In this case, he was reported under Law 4/2015, for disobeying the instructions of the officers, and Law 5/97, for consuming alcoholic beverages in a public place.
