La lluvia desactiva alerta por incendios en Cantabria

Cantabria has deactivated the forest fire alert in all regions this Saturday due to a change in meteorological conditions in the region, with intense rainfall, a decrease in temperatures, and an increase in relative humidity.

According to the latest report provided by the Government, there have been five forest fires in the community in the last 24 hours. The most significant one occurred in San Vitores, in Medio Cudeyo, during yesterday’s evening-night, affecting a eucalyptus forest and requiring the mobilization of four operational teams.

This operation, activated last Thursday due to strong south wind gust forecasts, involved 23 forest firefighter teams, 18 natural environment agents, two on-duty technicians, and six radio operators.

Likewise, the burning ban has been lifted early in the morning, so burning in rural areas, grassland-scrubland, and leftover materials is now permitted.
