Los trenes entre Santander y La Cantábrica y Maliaño se vuelven a suprimir este fin de semana

Cercanías and Media Distancia trains on the lines connecting Santander with Liérganes and Bilbao will be suspended again this weekend between the capital of Cantabria and La Cantábrica and Maliaño.
The disruptions are due to works by Adif at the Nueva Montaña station, for which Renfe has arranged 176 bus services to transfer passengers in the affected sections.
The improvement works on the narrow gauge railway network will require the suspension of rail services on Saturday between Santander and La Cantábrica and on Sunday between Santander and Maliaño.
CERCANÍAS Y MEDIA DISTANCIA
Specifically, on March 1st, buses will operate on the Cercanías network to cover the route between Santander and Maliaño (for trains connecting with Liérganes) and between Santander and La Cantábrica (for those originating or destined to this station). And on Sunday, March 2nd, there will be buses for the journey between Santander and Maliaño.
In the case of Media Distancia trains connecting with Bilbao, road transfers will be available on both days of the weekend between Santander and Maliaño. Timetables can be checked on renfe.com.
OBRAS
Regarding the Adif works at the Nueva Montaña station, they involve the comprehensive renovation of the terminal platforms, focusing on the tracks (switches), signaling installations, and electrification.
The objective of this intervention, which is part of the Cantabria Cercanías Plan, is to «increase the operationality and reliability of the facilities.»
