Pedro Hernando confirma que no será candidato a la presidencia.

Regionalist deputy Pedro Hernando confirmed that he never considered requesting Miguel Ángel Revilla as a candidate for RPC for the upcoming regional elections and only hopes to work within the parliamentary group, where he would have served as spokesperson, once elected as the new leader.

«I believe I have been working for many years, and my group continues to trust me to serve as spokesperson. This is my only attempt to have a presence in Cantabria’s politics: to try to serve this parliament in the interest of regionalism as the spokesperson,» he stated.

He then responded to the press about the process that the party will undergo to nominate Revilla as a candidate for the presidency, with the first applicant being Guillermo Blanco, who confirmed that he will seek support from his colleagues on Monday.

Hernando declined to comment on this candidacy, stating that he is «just a party member» in this matter since he holds no position in the party.

«My work is limited to the parliamentary field.» «I still work with Guillermo Blanco in the parliamentary field, but I don’t believe my opinion differs from that of a simple party member of the Regionalist Party who doesn’t deserve public attention,» he said.

He did not disclose whether there will be additional candidates for Revilla. «I don’t know why no one called me. See if I fit in a little in this part,» he joked, addressing this issue after a press conference held on Wednesday regarding the administrative simplification law.

He confirmed that he will not be among the candidates. «In this case, I can say it because I have stated it several times over the years.» «This has been clear for a long time,» he emphasized, insisting that he only hopes to continue within the parliamentary group «at least until the next elections.»
